DESCRIPTION:
The Keenan Auction Company is pleased to offer this one of a kind Thos. Moser Roll-top Desk at Public Auction. This piece was handcrafted in the late 1970s by Thos. Moser as a prototype for Loring Short and Harmon for a potential furniture line for their company. The desk was acquired by Mr. & Mrs. Weinrich in the late 1970’s from Loring, Short & Harmon. A letter from Thos. Moser authenticates Mr. Moser's personal involvement in making this beautiful heirloom quality piece of furniture. The desk is made of solid cherry and measures 23.5"d x 57"h x 48"w.
More about Thos. Moser: "Thos. Moser was founded over 50 years ago in New Gloucester, Maine, with the intent of restoring the lost art of making furniture well. Today, some 70 men and women in our workshop continue to craft pieces the same way we did at the beginning: one piece, one craftsman, one signature. We rely on sustainable North American hardwoods, traditional joinery executed by hand, and individual workmanship. We are guided by our mission to build furniture that celebrates the natural beauty of wood, is of simple, unadorned, graceful lines, and is crafted for a long, useful life."
